Hello,

I just finished my first painting on a hardboard, but now I want to mount it, to hang up. Any suggestions? The hard board I used is 1/8 thick. Is the only option I have is to frame it?

You can use strips of wood measuring perhaps 3/4 - 1 inch deep and cut to the exact proportions of the finished painting and carefully glue to the back of the hardboard. Sides could be primed and painted in a neutral colour or using a predominant colour appearing in the painting.

The effect would be much like a gallery-wrap canvas when hung.

Just a thought.

I actually like paintings box mounted behind glass.
It's an expensive option, but adds some class and importance to the work. smile
